*     Read selected information to identify the factors, forces, and stresses that influence bridge design and why engineers use

          scale models

*     Define Tech Terms and answer Research Questions to learn about bridge design and constructions

*     Review computer software to explore the construction of arches, bridges, and buildings 

ACTIVITY DAY #3

*     Complete a Truss Design exercise to understand the importance of the triangle as used in bridge design

*     View a videotape presentation about bridge design and construction procedures

*     Read selected information to examine design ideas and bridge examples

*     Begin development of your own bridge design by sketching three views 

ACTIVITY DAY #4

*     Review required bridge design specifications to finalize ideas for your bridge design

*     Prepare for bridge construction by completing a full-size, measured drawing of the three views of your bridge design 

ACTIVITY DAY #5

*     Begin construction of your model bridge by fastening the bridge design pattern to cardboard

*     Measure, cut, glue, and pin wood pieces together to form the basic shape of the side of the bridge

ACTIVITY DAY #6

*     Continue construction of your model bridge as you measure, cut, glue, and pin wood pieces together to form the shape of

         the bridge

 ACTIVITY DAY #7

*     Continue construction of your model bridge as you measure, cut, glue, and pin wood pieces together to form the shape of      

        the bridge 

ACTIVITY DAY #8

*     Continue construction of your model bridge as you measure, cut, glue, and pin wood pieces together to form the shape of

        the bridge 

ACTIVITY DAY #9

*     Complete construction of your model bridge as you assemble the four structural sections

*     Prepare the finished model for testing and turn it in to your instructor
